• THE FORMULATION OF AN INITIATIVE TO FOSTER COOPERATION BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE PHILIPPINES AND COLOMBIA IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF PEACE

The Ideaborn Foundation carried out activities to identify and formulate a cooperative initiative between Colombia and the Philippines.

Objectives: Carrying out an analysis of successful Colombian experiences, on issues of citizen coexistence and peaceful resolution of conflicts, including the experience of Citizen Coexistence Centers, in order to replicate them in the Philippines, particularly in the Mindanao region. The main objective of this proposal is to increase the levels of tolerance and mutual understanding between the Christian and Muslim communities in southern Mindanao, through a democratic conflict resolution mechanism, the empowerment of these communities in the rational use of justice, incentivizing them to the effective use of existing mechanisms in peaceful conflict resolution.

The ideaborn Foundation carried out these initiatives in 2012 under the invitation and request of the municipal governments of the cities mentioned and is available to others that require these services.
